I have literally just finished watching the Marc Jacobs SS 11 runway show for New York Fashion Week. The show was broadcast live on the Marc Jacobs website. I totally expected to be like bad CCTV. That we should feel like we shouldn't be watching because we're not fashion journos or buyers. But it was as well rehearsed camera wise as any television production. Great shots of the clothes and the whole runway.
Thanks to womensweardaily on twitter
The clothes themselves seemed incredibly wearable. Some of the pieces were a little bright and garish, others stuck to neutrals, perfect for spring days in the countryside. Long white maxi dresses with red strips at even intervals. Beautiful. Grey jumpsuits teamed with bright wedges. Gorgeous.
So is this the way we'll be watching fashion shows from now on? No longer with the average Jane have wait for the blogs and magazines to show them what they missed. I think it's a great idea. Well done Marc!

Slave to the Wage
The post on the Tamara Drewe and Posy Simmonds interview is on it's way. I have so many notes to write up on it and very little time this week. Mainly because apart from doing the 9-5.30, I've been in a play. Part of the new Brightside Productions group in Mansfield. Two plays are forming one production. We started tonight and finish tomorrow evening. It may only be two shows but I'm exhausted from it all. So it's been straight from work to the theatre and then home just to get up and do it all again tomorrow. So hopefully Saturday I can sit and write everthing up. I hope. Need to check my diary...
Tonight went really well, only tiny hiccups that I'm sure the audience didn't notice. A slight problem with sound that was sorted in the nick of time. Thanks to being able to fetch my laptop fairly quickly. Oh and Maplin still being open to sell us a mini jack. My mother will be chuffed to hear that sound tests were done using the Barwick Green theme from The Archers. Laptop is full of podcasts and I don't like Media Player so I had no idea how to remove them from there. Oh yeah, that 'remove list' button, I see.
If anyone would like to come see the plays tomorrow night in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire click the Brightside Link below and there is also more information on the plays there. Alternatively just comment below or go to my Twitter page and message me.
Thanks

Flying in
Just a quick note to say that all being well, in the next few days I'll have a write up on the new film directed by Stephen Frears, 'Tamara Drewe
'. I got myself a ticket and then by the end of the afternoon, I'd scored a free one. There's a screening of the film and then a Q&A with Frears himself. If anyone can think of anything to ask him should I get the chance, I would be grateful. I've made some notes tonight with the help of Wikipedia, it all looks a bit professional. Well, maybe.
I don't know if I'll get chance to write it when I get back but it'll be up as soon as I get chance. I'm in a play Wed-Fri so it's going to be a busy week.
Have managed to aquire a few more moleksine sketchbooks in the past few days, spent tonight trying to draw a cocktail shaker. I'm rubbish. Had to trace one from Google Images. Fail.
So that's me. Early start tomorrow. Goodnight.

Make it Last
I've not been really in the mood for being very creative recently. Then again, when am I? So I need to get back on it. A great place to start being in the mood for writing and drawing, is shopping. I'm now the proud owner of a lovely large cavas tote bag from Paperchase. I ummed and ahhed over buying it. Finally deciding that it'd hold all my pens and pads. Oh and the fact that it has the three cutest little ladies on it, one from Rome, another from Paris and the third from London. Perfect.
I've been 'nesting' recently, with regards to notebooks. I have about twenty or so. Some with pages used. Others, blank. I have all the intention to use them. Fill them full of musings and doodles. But I never do.
To give you an idea of what I mean, here's the contents of the bag from the weekend. Bear in mind, I only got it on Saturday.
A popped to Waterstones on Saturday. They've made the Paperchase franchise in there, huge. So that's when I got the bag, along with four new books. I took the advice of Liberty London Girl and also purchased a sketchbook from Rymans. And eBay has been providing me with new Moleskines.
Now to business. I need to fill these. Just to feel accomplished. And the blog needs filling in more, too. So I'll be updating here, with what I've put in the various pads. And with what I think of the books I'm going to read.
I promise.
